CLERK & RECORDER

Why I am Running for Clerk & Recorder

My name is Wyatt Schwendeman-Curtis, and I am a Democrat running for Larimer County Clerk & Recorder in the special election in 2024.

I am running because I want to ensure our elections stay safe and secure, that every vote counts, guarantee young voters are represented on campuses, engage our rural and underserved communities and bring them to the table, and introduce a new perspective to the Clerk's Office.

Our former clerk and recorder, Angela Myers, retired. Because of my love for data and my experience in team management and budgeting, I chose to run for this seat as a way to serve the people of Larimer.

The clerk's office does many more things than just elections. We live in a large county, and I want to ensure that no one has to struggle to get a marriage license or even a new registration sticker for their car. My goals are to build on the efficiencies we currently have with a fresh point of view and engage with our community through new ideas.

Even though I am a Democrat, this is a nonpartisan position that needs strong leadership. I hope to be that person and earn every vote.

Our Democracy is more fragile than ever before, and as your Larimer County Clerk & Recorder, Election Transparency is a top priority for me. I hope to greatly increase communication between the Clerk's office and the citizens of Larimer across the board, but especially during election time.
