Lt. Governor Dianne Primavera, State Majority Co-Whip Rep. Andrew Boesenecker, and Former Congresswoman Betsy Markey Endorses Wyatt Schwendeman-Curtis for Larimer County Clerk & Recorder
Larimer County, CO---- Lt. Governor Dianne Primavera, State Majority Co-Whip Rep. Andrew Boesenecker, and Former Congresswoman Betsy Markey endorse Wyatt Schwendeman-Curtis for Larimer County Clerk and Recorder. The Larimer County Clerk and Recorder office was left vacant due to the early retirement of Angela Myers in May of 2023. This election will determine who fulfills the remainder of her term through January 2027.
Lt Governor Dianne Primavera has this to say about Wyatt: “Wyatt has the passion and drive to lead a complex office. Now more than ever, we need someone who will be 100% transparent when it comes to elections. He will lead with integrity for our democratic process and all of the Clerk’s duties and responsibilities.”
Co-Majority Whip State Rep. Andrew Boesenecker says, “I believe Wyatt will bring a fresh perspective and new ideas to the role, which will help improve the transparency of election data. His background and passion will create an uplifting environment in the clerk’s office.”
Former Congresswoman (CD-4) and US Assistant Secretary of Homeland Security for Intergovernmental Affairs, Betsy Markey endorses saying, “Wyatt truly has a passion for service. You can see his eagerness to grow his knowledge and participate in group conversations to develop ideas and processes for improvement. I know he will work hard to build a strong, open clerk’s office that will work for all the people of Larimer County.”
This is the first time the seat has been vacant in almost 11 years. Wyatt would be the first Democrat and member of the LGBTQ+ community elected as the Larimer County Clerk and Recorder. Wyatt feels it is time for the office to have a new voice and different ideas. Leaders across Colorado have supported Wyatt in his campaign for this office since it began 15 months ago. He is set up to run against Republican Tina Harris who was appointed in the interim as the Clerk and Recorder until the election this November.
Wyatt is running on championing values such as election and data transparency, communication, teamwork, democracy, accessibility, and a dedication to truth, efficiency, and accuracy of reporting. His campaign is a call to all who share these values to stand up for our democratic system of governance and against those who wish to suppress the voice of the vote.
Wyatt has the endorsement of many respected leaders like State Senator Janice Marchman and State Representative Judy Amabile, State Board of Education Director Rhonda Solis from CD 8, Larimer County Coroner Stephen Hanks, local mayors including Jeni Arndt (Fort Collins), Will Karspeck (Berthoud), and Calar Chaussee (Wellington), and many more local leaders, educators, and community organizers.
